"WITH YOU"
Relief Distribution Camps.

It all started on a fine day after supper cyclone AMPHAN strucked many part of state of West Bengal, while strolling on terrace of my building I spoke to our General secretary" why don't we do something for AMPHAN suffered people?" We are already in lockdown and due to super cyclone our FB Live not happening all internet connection was disintegrated! We spoke to other members & we zeroed a place named 'KOABERIA' in South 24 Parganas District ! We appealed to our members and well wisher for their whole hearted support for this Nobel cause. On 7th June we reached 'KOABERIA' after getting permission from competent authority to do our relief work during lock-down. We served almost 350 families with daily essentials like Rice, Dal, Suji, Neutrela Soya Bari, Soap, Salt, Sugar, Chira, Masala, Match box, vegetable oil, Tea, Sanitary napkins etc..and also distributed 350 pieces 'MEHOGINI' saplings to the villagers.

After this relief work we had a sense of satisfaction that we could help some needy family with whatever strength we had.. Again we got a proposal from our one member about a place where AMPHAN destroyed the entire village very badly, Malekangumti (Sundarban) in North 24 Parganas District. This village is just at the border of Bangladesh it's separated by River Kalindi. On 21st June with the help of our members and well-wisher specially Ganesh Chandra Mondal and Surya Makhal who contributed 200 KG Rice and 120 Gamchhas for this relief work. We hired a Tempo traveller with the help of our one member Naushad Alam at very reasonable rate! The team IOE moved Malekangumti (Sundarban) along with Relief warriors Raajesh Shaw, M.Nabi, PK Singh,, Ravi, Gautam, Ataur, Sagufa, Sanghamitra, Tarun, Dhruba, Avijit, Mita, Arindam, Fozail, and Sovan reached Malekangumti (Sundarban)around 3 PM. We reached there late due to bad road and flat tyre of our vehicle. But we completed our task on time and around 130 families were served with our relief materials.

We at The Institute of Exploration not only do adventure in our normal daily life we also keep our spirit high for these types of disaster and always ready for our country man that's the soul of the Institute.

" EXPLORERS DAY "

" Because it is there"- George Mallory

Considered one of the most enduring mysteries of the 20th century, it has been almost over 96 years today, since their ill-fated attempt to climb Everest, as we still remember the legendary British mountaineers George Mallory and Andrew Irvine. Both disappeared on June 8, 1924 while attempting to summit Mount Everest. Mallory was 38 years old and it was his third attempt. Whether Mallory and Irvine had reached the summit before they died remains a subject of speculation and continuing research. As both were reported to have gone missing on 8th or 9th June, 1924.Mallory's ultimate fate was unknown for 75 years, until his body was discovered on 1st May, 1999.so the concept of "Explorers Day" was launched and celebrated by The Institute of Exploration, Kolkata, India every year from 9th June, 2018 onward, to salute and honour such brave hearts.

"With You"

The Institute of Exploration has been with our brothers and sisters during every critical situation be it Aila or Super Cyclone Amphan! On 7th June,2020 we have organised a relief camp at Koaberia a block in South 24 Parganas and distributed daily essentials and Sanitary Napkins to about 300 Families.
